LEARNING
Feel more comfortable asking questions about your figures.
You do not need to prepare the accounts to have a useful conversation about them. This programme helps owners and non-finance staff understand common financial reports, cash timing and the questions worth asking before a decision is made.
Learn what the main figures describe
We explain the relationship between income, costs, assets, liabilities and cash using accessible examples. Participants explore why a profitable month may still feel short of cash and why the bank balance is not the whole financial picture. The depth follows the audience's starting knowledge.
Read beyond the headline number
Exercises look at periods, comparisons and assumptions. Learners practise asking whether the records are complete and whether two figures are genuinely comparable. The aim is understanding, not memorising a set of ratios without knowing what sits behind them.
Take a checklist into the next meeting
An agreed handout can help participants review a reporting pack and identify sensible follow-up questions. Examples are educational and fictional unless another protected arrangement is approved. The programme does not provide personalised investment, legal or tax advice.
Common questions
Will this be too technical for an owner without accounting experience?
The introductory level can be designed for that audience. We agree the starting point before confirming the session.
