YOUR BOOKS
Start where the records are, not where they should have been.
Falling behind does not mean the next step has to be overwhelming. Farwa's catch-up work begins by finding out which periods are affected, what information exists and where the gaps are. We then agree a sequence that can be worked through and reviewed.
Separate the different problems
A missing bank statement is different from a duplicated invoice or an opening balance no one can explain. We assess the records and identify the main types of issue. Prior reports and submissions may affect how corrections need to be handled, so they should be mentioned at the start.
Work through the backlog deliberately
We organise the available evidence, prepare agreed corrections and keep unanswered questions visible. Your authorised contact confirms the business explanations and approves changes where required. Material historical issues may need additional professional assessment rather than a routine bookkeeping adjustment.
Leave the next period easier
The result should explain the periods covered, the changes made and the matters still open. A practical collection schedule can then help prevent another backlog. Recurring bookkeeping is a separate choice; you are not assumed to have committed to an ongoing service because a catch-up project was needed.
Common questions
Can you quote before seeing the records?
We can discuss the requirement, but a dependable scope and estimate need an assessment of volume, completeness and access.
